Default This sucks

My friend sat on my tailgate last night and i had no idea that the tailgate straps were rusted out. He sat on it the damn tail gate broke and he fell off it. stratch the **** out of my tailgate at the bottom where i have a screw for my rollpan. Should i use just touch up paint or go back to the body shop? Its to the metal it got in there deep. Also do i just go to a service department and buy new tail gate straps?

I say go to your dealer and tell them to fix it. Tell them what happened and they should replace the cables and fix the additional damages. There is a recall out about those tailgate cables.

well good news is that they are on recall. I went to the delarship and they replaced it for free as for the damages since im not the original owner of the truck they cant do anything. its fine my dads buddy owns a body shop i will get it fixed for next to nothing. the problem is the guy said the cables are getting water inside them and just eating them up. They are comming out with stainless steel in late december he said. so he said until then they will be fine but he said come back in Decemeber hopefull they will be out and get them put on
