Default "strength" of a stock water pump

im trying to get everything sorted out for my S-10 race truck.

its goin to have a 4.8/4L80E and a ford 8.8"

the 4.3 radiator has a leak in it at the moment. so using it is a nogo. i bought a 28" rad from usabodyguard awhile back that i thought about using.

seriously thinking about mounting it in the bed, ill already have my fuel cell and nitrous bottles back there. and i have plenty of room in the front of the bed.
cut some slits in the bed so i can get some air flow out of the bed with the Efans pushing the air down.

just wondering if the stock waterpump is up for the challenge??

You going turbo?? If so i see no reason why the stock pump wouldn't do the job... Only thing I have heard is that the pulley was ripped off, but that was on a blower set up.. Keep the radi up fron't you arn't build no baja truck.. Jesus

Turbo is in the future.. i want to get it goin N/A to work any bugs out..
then put a bunch of nitrous on it and wait till i get all the turbo parts.

the stock pump is a 93... haha and it doesnt have the factory gas tank in it anymore.
its got this. with a inline walbro on one of the outlets. i needed that other walbro for the nitrous kits on the other outlet..

ive only seen the pulley break off on Ranwalks truck.. haha alot of tension will do that.

i dont think a 28" radiator is goin to fit up front..

I would try It. Most of the restriction come from the radiator and engine. Just hose I would think would be fine. I dunno, I was just thinking about how much water they put out when you blow a hose off... lol

I read somewhere that the water passages can't really support more than about 30gpm, so if you go electric, there is no need for the 55gpm monster. That will just increase the amount of pressure in the system and increase your chances of blowing a line off when running. I think the stock system can handle it, but its worth about 5hp to go electric.
