Default Steering Problems

I just started to notice it, but when i am trying to back out of a parking spot and start to turn the wheel the oppisit way(doesnt matter which way) it does not turn at all. I have to be rolling a little bit for it to turn. I never noticed that before just all of a sudden it started. I dont think this is normal. I know my other trucks never had this problem. Even my 96 with 35's had no problem turning stopped. Is this normal? If not any suggestions?
Also I have just started noticeing a clunk sound when i turn left or right. Is this the famous "Steering CLunk"?

what do you mean by doesn't turn? as in it stops moving when wheel is all the way turned or the truck keeps backing up straight with the wheel turned? I'm going to go ahead and guess you mean the truck stops and you need to give it gas to continue moving when the wheel is turned. Sounds like you rear end isn't disengaging to me so the wheels are trying to spin at the same time and since in a turn one should rotate less the the other it get's into a bind.
The steering clunk is move so a rattle in the wheel over bumps and such, but without hearing or feeling what yours is doing I'm not sure, try greasing up the front end to see if that helps first.

Sorry I gave the wrong impression. What is happening. My truck is fine drives great its when i am sitting still trying to turn the steering wheel. It stops after like one turn..... Ok lets say you are trying to back out of a parking spot. You get backed out and then you want to turn hard so you dont hit the car you are parked next to. When i turn the steering wheel to the right or left. the wheels will not turn. its like there is not enough fluid from the powering steering pump to turn the wheels. I checked fluid level and it is fine

Most likely, mine would do it when turn and hitting small bumps is when it's most noticeable.

Is your truck still under warranty?

My friends 07 classic - same problem.
eventually he lost power steering completely.
He took it to the dealer and they replaced the pump under warranty.

low tire pressure will also cause this. if not that then it is a weak pump
