Default Spyware/Asware/Viruses

I was having problems with these and just got it fixed using the following. I had a current Nortan A/V wich came with my computer and it tatally sucked. If you want your viruses removed, this is the program you want and its free.

It's a lot of better than Nortan since it removed several viruses and bad files from computer that were giving me problems.
If you are looking for a firewall. Zone Alarm is the way to go. It was rated best by "PC Mag" I am currently running and it rocks. You can download a free 30 day trial verson here.

If you think you have spyware, this is the software you need to get rid of it. I ran it and was amazed how much junk I had in my computer.

It's called Spybot Search and Destroy.
Here is another adware program which works pretty decent aswell.

Thanks Shark. I will have to try that free antivirus software since Norton sucks my ***...
I had some crap spyware in my computer that I couldn't get rid of. I used Norton, adaware, etc. and I could still tell it was there...I finally just gave up and stored all my **** on my secondary HD and then formatted the primary one and had a fresh windowsxp...ahh...
I'm building my new one right now....now I'm going to have to format BOTH computers and give away the "old" 750MHz...I just got a 2.8GHz...WOO HOO!

Norton A/V doesn't scan for spyware.

On that note I've had excellent results with Norton A/V. It found and fixed stuff that McAffee, F-prot, and AVG couldn't either find or fix.

I'm a HUGE Spybot Search & Destroy believer though, it works awesome! Your best bet is to run both Spybot and Adware because each will find some things the other one doesn't. ZoneAlarm is awesome too. I especially like ZoneAlarm Pro because it ties in with my Linksys router which already has an awesome built in firewall.

Nah, that's ok. I'll keep my 1.5MB per second cable connection.

Oh, I know Norton doesn't scan for spyware
What I meant was that I couldn't figure out if it was a virus or spyware in my computer doing that, so I used both Norton AND ad-aware but to no avail But I'll try both Spybot and Ad-aware next time...thanks for the tip.
So I just backed up all my porno..I mean important files...heh...and formatted the computer...so fresh and so clean (clean)

I'm a big fan of SpyBot myself. Its free. I'm an IT guy, and I'm putting it on all our PCs. You wouldn't believe the stuff that it catches that you never knew was on your PC.

I use Ad-aware 6.0 for the spyware. Seems to be a real good program, its free, and damn is my computer so much better now.
