Default spare pulley wont let go

the spare under my truck will not come out, I put the pole in and crank counter clockwise and the damn thing wont even move, it jsut clicks, I am sure I have it in their far enough, well AAA is coming out to see what they can do. If nothing I am calling the dealership and telling them to come pick it up and tow it where ever and put a new pulley on it and fix my tire. does anyone know what else might be wrong with the lowering system. I had this happen in a 96 chevy but I had a pair of bolt cutters and I jsut cut the wire, that is not an option right now. any help quickly would be appreciated. t hanks guys.

You might have to slide your arm throught the rim(yeah I know its tight) and guide the tool in. There was a problem with this and you had to realign the spare holder . You might also have to pull the tube that runs from the spare holder to the bumper off to get the tool to line up.hope this helps

Hey if its under warranty let them do it. IT is an agrivating thing to do if the truck is on the ground.

Make sure you are using the shaft with the right tip. I was gonna drop my spare to check the pressure in it and ended up having to put my hand thru the rim to remove the tube to see why the thing would not lower. Turns out I was using the wrong tip.

I had the same problem, It ended up being the guide shaft fell out of place. I just put it back in place and worked fine. took me an hour to figure it out though.
