Default So I was running my mouth...

...and I made a $50 bet that my truck will run a 12.99 1/4 mile. The mods that will be done at race time will be...

WCCH ported heads, milled for .5pt of compression
cam, designed for low end grunt, not top end power.
shorties.

FLT 4L60E, Level 3 or 4
2600-2800 stall

Tru-trac...

Is 12.99 a dream in an 02 ECSB Z71?

yeah ext. cab, and depending on cam specs....... you have the set up that a reg cab could break in the 12s with, but i don't think a ext cab will

Nah, I told him i'd run NA. Its only $50, not $500, and weve been friends for years, so theres nothing serious about it. I might hide the spray, little sneaky pete setup that he'll never find.

You'll lose that $50. There are only a few guys in extended cabs that run 12's n/a and those guys have full bolt on engines, 4.10's, and big converters. Plus they are all very close to sea level which makes a HUGE difference.

I'd say you'll be lucky to hit a 13 not a 12.

My best was 15.03 with all bolt ons, cam and shortys w/5.3! That was on stock tires though (32.7")

My stock tires measure 30.5". I know that a smaller tire = higher trap speed. Not saying its gonna equal 1 sec in the 1/4, but...oh yeah, forgot the LS1 fans and UD pulley that are going in.

So now its time to start thinking about a hidden 75 shot...

bottle in the frame rail, SS line fed thru the CAI and held in by a bracket spraying directly into the TB, controlled by a button?

With a torquey cam and a decent sized stall you'll have problems getting traction - I agree with above. I'd guess high 13's at best.

I figured that I'd launch in 4WD and switch to 2 wd after I got out of the hole.

can't do that... it won't disengage the front axle until you take your foot out of it, and that's risking too much time so you might was well keep your foot in it.

Running a 12 sec pass N/A in a 4X4 extended cab isn't gonna be easy
