Default SLOW power windows

I have 2001 silverado that I just converted to factory power windows from manual using the parts out of another 2001 silverado. The problem I am having is the power windows are VERY slow and then after putting them up then down a couple times the motor will even get too hot and shut off for a minute or two. I have tried silicon on the tracks and greasing the regulators but still not much better! They go down alright, but they just come up VERY slow! Is there a fix for this? Could I have a bad ground somewhere in the harness? Do I need a new motor or regulator (sold sep. thru GM)? ANY help would be awsome guys!!!!

You can get the motors from the dealer. I used lithium grease on the tracks and silicon spray on the pulleys and put new motors/regulators in it and mine are still slow, but alot better then they were before.

My question is what makes them so slow....I know there is no possible way they come from the factory like this! You could blame it on the motor or regulator but if that was the case them replacing them would bring the windows back up to normal speed...correct? My father has a 2007 classic silverado and his windows are just as quick as any other car (like a new truck should be) and I have no complants with those. Mine just suck......really bad!

Someone on LS1Tech.com is selling a kit that's supposed to fix the same problems in the F Bodies. I bet it would work on our trucks too. I havent tried it because I live in FL my windows stay up!

^^ look over on Tech. There is a huge write up about the cause and correction for the problem, basically stemming from low power supply to the passenger side causing motor issue?

Thanks guys,
My problem also applies to both driver and passanger side winows and that kit only helps the passanger side window. I researched it some more on ls1tech.com and alot of people with f-bodys have drivers side problems as well and all they do is replace the motors and it seems to make it "some what" better for awhile. Maybe I will try them both. Is anybody else with trucks having these problems on either both windows or the drivers side?

My 00 gmc dident have this problem, but what did happen was the passenger side window regulator cable broke, so I ordered the new regulator with the motor, and it works fine now. Also my driver side window was fine before the passenger side window broke, now its going up really slow, probably ready for replacement also...
