Thats a lot of block for 450hp.

I wonder what a take out LS3/L76 can be had for?
The swap will be pretty straightforward though.
Man this new LSX/GEN4 stuff is expensive new.

I bought a brand new '09 LY6 in the crate for right at $3k, but actual cost was a little less after I sold off VVT stuff and efi intake. Came with complete intake w/tb, exhaust manifolds, and an accessory drive w/o accessories. Its a genIV iron block 6.0 with L92 heads and VVT, which I removed with the cam swap. I did open it up, but for a cam/springs/p-rods swap only. My main reason for getting a new one was for peace of mind....and I don't have to worry about whether it was abused or not.
I like the LSX376 myself.....sure would be one heck of a platform to build off of.

You don't have to get the 6.0 rebuilt. Do some shopping online and have a low mileage motor shipped to you (hopefully with some sort of warranty). Check it out pretty well and do some easy mods to it while it's out (cam, bolt ons, etc).
IMO, any kind of building or rebuilding of LS motors is a risk. I've seen guys on here spend thousands of dollars on motors rebuilt by professionals (I guess...), only to have them spin a bearing or break a piston. You'd be much better off just buying the engine and running it. You'll be saving the money and hassle of rebuilding it and can keep that money set aside just in case the motor doesn't last long.

I agree though, get a used 6.0, cam it, stall it, and if that's not enough pick up a used 112 blower and you'll be more than happy.
