Default Should i be worried?

I was in a situation where i had to slam on the brakes today, in the process my truck shutdown and the check oil pressure indicator came on. It took me three tries to get my truck started after. The oil pressure light went off after it started, and it drove fine with no problems. Just worried if something might be wrong.
Thanks,
Cade

I have no idea how slamming on the brakes would do something like that.

You didnt hit anything?

Did you check and see if you were low on oil? If you were low, maybe the force of stopping pulled all the oil to the front off the pan and left the pickup tube sucking air?

i was thinking that if you slammed on your breaks... i mean REALLY slammed on your brakes the oil can slosh forward, especially if you were low to begin with... and the oil pressure switch is also a safety fuel pump cutoff, and if you get below 7psi oil pressure it cuts fuel off...

yeah the oil pressure switch also works as that... and the reason it may have been hard to start si once it sucked up some air... it had to purge it... so it probably just took a try or so to show the pcm that you were getting pressure again...

tbh i wouldnt worry unless you see oil pressure fluctuations or a noticable drop...

but changing the oil might not be a bad idea just so you can look at it and look for any glitter look...

but i seriously doubt any major damage was done.... you were slamming on the brakes... so your engine wasnt under heavy load like acccelerating...

btw let this be a reminder.... check your oil each once in awhile... like when your gas is filling.... thats an easy time to check fluids... also if you check trans make sure engine is running, and at operating temp

yeah the dry sump is a great setup... but not very practical for all vehicles... being as it takes the standard wet sump system and makes it extremely complicated.....

and really cool...

my drag car had a dry sump... all i can say is it was great..... until one of the scavenging circuits took a
