Default Should I extend my factory warranty?

My warranty is running out in Sept or another 4000 miles. I am wondering if I should buy the extend warranty.

The guy quoted me like

~1000 for 2yr. 24k
~1400 for 3yr. 36k

I really only plan on keeping the truck for another 2 years cause I want to buy a 4X4 Crew Cab when I move to Colorado.

I don't plan on any motor swaps or anything, I might put a small cam in the 4.8 so I don't think I need to worry about blowing a tranny.

What would yall do?

Your probably going to end up modding something that will void it, id say just spend the extra cash on more mods!

I decided not to get the warranty. I plan on trading the truck in for a extended cab or crew cab in about a year. The only thing I was really worried about was the tranny and since mine is a RC and stock 4.8 I think the tranny should be good until I trade it in. Besides IMO a modded 4.8 does have enough ***** to really break a tranny

Do you want to see an input shaft that a modded 4.8 snapped in half

If you can think of 1 or more things that will add up to more than $1000 or $1400 that typically break. then it may be a good idea.

IMO,
unless you mod enough to void the warranty, you won't need it!?!?

You can get a low mileage 4l60e for 500-600 any day.

Do you really think you're going to break over $1000 worth of stuff in the next 2 yrs or 24k miles? Take your chances. It's a gamble that the warranty co. is probably going to win.
