I had 4" over the axle with my own DIY relocation which was similar in design to the AFP kit so definitely do-able with proper bracket location and/or exhaust manipulation.

I have the relocation kit from VAS Fab with caltracs. i would NOT recommend doing shock relocation without caltracs or assassin bars. the axle wrap would be fatal. I like my kit. pretty simple to setup and on radials it hooks and books, truck tires not so much lol, just roasts them from a stop and stomp or even building up rpms on the converer.
