Default Sealing Headlights?

I just got a set of headlights on eBay for cheap, but they look and fit pretty darn well. But they have vent holes in the back of them with rubber elbows to prevent water from directly getting it. The stock headlights had no vent holes. Should I remove the rubber elbows and seal up these holes? I already used clear silicon around the outer edge of the headlights.

Thanks

i probably would....i mean i understand what your saying about why they're there but it just seems like moisture would end up in there...i'd just seal it up with some silicone & call it a day

I guess I'm worried that if moisture does get in, it may be nice to have the vent holes, and maybe that's why they are there?

The vent holes are required. You don't usually notice on OE housings, but there is a blue or black dot that is actually a mesh to allow ventilation of the housing.

Yes all housings are vented one way or another. Just think you have a hot headlamp and you turn it off if its cool outside you'll have condensation buildup. Without the vent the condensation may never leave. With it it will be able to evaporate out of the housing...
