I saw a near stock Cobra at the Redding CA track two weeks ago that still had dealer plates on it and the guy was ripping off SOLID 12.1's all night long. He only upped boost.

Now, there were 3 Z06's running that night and they could not, for the life of them get past high 12's and that was only one of them. The other two were running consistent mid 13's. My bud that I went up there with has a SB 71 Chevelle with a 9 inch out back, 280 or so ponies to the rear wheels and he walked a Z06 like it was his daughters puppy. 3 times. and he was running consistent low 13's.

All im getting at here is that fast is fast and brand loyalty at all costs doesnt make you quick, just gives you tunnel vision and narrows the mind. To think that a badge and who a car is manufactured by means your superior on the street or track is silly. Just IMO, guys (but I am throwing on the flame suit just incase)

i would love to race a upped boost 03 cobra just to see what happened. the one 03 i've ran i pulled pretty bad, and he had exhaust and intake...not sure what else. and i pulled an 02 GT with a Vortech S-Trim and MANY mods and pulled him pretty bad also.

s stands for supercharged hence s281 the 281 is the regular 290hp one. the s281e the
extreme is quick as hell. stock on pirelli;s runs a 12.4 and on slicks stock 11.8 they
are beast yet also expensive at 45,000 dollars.

first thing, yes saleens are way over priced. I have drove 2 and one was a 2002 saleen s281 and then I drove a 281. Actually the 281 felt faster due to the s281 having stock gears in it and the 281 pulled harder with the 3.73. the supercharger is a prettty low on boost I think around 5-6 or so. Now if you want a bad *** saleen go get the s351. Now that thing will tear some people up. Also love gm (trucks) would never own a gm car(except corvette) of course. I totally understand spending 35k on a cobra and doing 3k in mods and spanking most modififed Z06's. If it was up to me I would still buy a new c6. wait the 2006 Z06. now that's bad arrrsss

gotta chime in here.............
I fixed a S281 about a year ago.
I had to order the replacement parts from Saleen
Bumper covers, scoops, hood, etc...
First the parts were grossly over priced. stupid.
Second I have to tell you
Junk *** parts
I have never seen such poorly made parts.
Fit like crap - full of pin holes - all the edges had tons of flashing on them.
I bet I had 10 hours in the frt cover just trying to make it fit right
and trying to get in primer.
I would buy a production Cobra and add mods before buying one of those pcs of
junk.
Whoever pays good money for that is not right....
Sorry - sore subject.
I just never seen such a poorly made veh.

The S - DOES NOT - stand for Supercharged. The S just stands for Saleen. The SR and S7 have S's aswell, and neither are supercharged.
