Call me stupid by i think alot of these tests between similar oils of good quality are "sponsored" by one or the other because they all have different outcomes and similar tests. Its kinda like truck of the year or atv's or snowmobiles, its whoever "donates" the most to the research.

I'm running the Pennzoil Platinium as well. So far i have prob 1200miles on my last oil change in the heads/cam 6.0 and i checked it yesterday and the stuff still looks brand new.
I also use the WIX long style filter. My oil pressure always seems to be up about 5psi over the shorter filters.

Wow I started this topic over a year ago. Since I have created myself an over the top oil system to try out in my Blazer since it sees the most abuse. The oil runs through 3 inline Pure One large filters, then through a 17x15x1.25" oil cooler, then into the engine. Its been over a year of abuse and alot of miles and the oil still looks clean and clear. Also my oil temp stays lower now and the total system holds 7.5QT's. Yea I know its overkill but I had the parts laying around and was curious if I could make something that I could drive 50,000 miles between oil and filter changes. If it still looks this good at 50k then I may got to 75k before a change. The little abused 4.3L has high miles on it anyway so if it lets go sometime in between thats fine, I have been trying to blow it for years anyway so I could do a built 4.3L.

On a side note, I have RP in everything motorized I have, even the kids go cart, my atv, and push mower. In all the engines with no filter and in my honda atv with a crude filter the oil stays purple, it never changes color. In my trucks I can change the oil, drive for 30 minutes and the oil is no longer purple, its golden like any other oil. Are the Pure One filters so fine they are filtering out what ever makes the RP oil purple? I have sent this question to RP along with photos twice and cant get a responce about it. I asked them if the purple additive is whats getting filtered out and if that additive is part of what makes RP so good. If a good filter takes all the good stuff out that makes RP unique whats the point of using it? I wish they would respond with some sort of answer.
