I found one last weekend. '04 with 9000 miles for $1,250. It was in Houston. I'm sure there is another out there like it. I did find that the deals are not as easy to come by as they were 6 months ago.
I believe that I am going to have some throttle body issues going from the '00 5.3 to the '04 6.0. It's not a huge deal. You just have to make sure you have the same type of throttle body as on your original motor (mechanical or electric), or swap it over.
I don't know if you have EGR on your '01. The newer motors don't have it. That shouldn't cause any problems, except for plugging the hole in your headers.
Headers should fit.

I forgot the name of the yard he was at. They specialized in converting the motors for marine applications.
