Default relocator problem

I have a 01 EC silverado, recently i've put on a roll pan and a hidden hitch. with the hidden hitch my spare does not fit under the truck anymore. I tried looking for a tire relocator, but im told that they are only for stepsides. I thought they were the same for fleet and stepsides. Regarldess, the tire doesnt fit between the hidden hitch and the rear axle, it rubs when winched up. I was thinking of buying a smaller tire for the spare tire rim, but i wanted another opinion. Any suggestions?

Bell Tech, Sir Michaels....stepside, fleetside shouldn't matter. I just took mine and chained it in the bed.

Leave the spare at home! Less weight. If you need it call a buddy to pick it up or use his spare.

If you feel like you really need it, that's a good idea to just get a smaller tire.

Just a reminder, you can use a smaller tire on the front but if you've got a limited slip or a locker in the back it'll hurt it running different tires on the back. So if you had a flat on the back you'd have to put the spare on the front, stop, turn back a cold one or two, then switch the tire off the front with the flat.

lol, yeah that would be a pain in the a$$. I rather just have a spare in the bed. If i get a snugtop im going to look into getting a metal bracket made to mount the tire in the bed. but it would be wiser to wait until after i got my rims so that way i could have a good rim mounted back there and it would look nice for car shows/ whatnot. it would also be easier to take out. just a thought.
