Default reduce engine power

Can a bad tune cause reduce engine power? The reason why I ask is because I have changed out tb, xlink, check all ground ,gas pedal sensor and im still getting this maybe twice a day .i disconnect the maf sensor and truck ran a little better but still had the problem . Another reason why i ask is because i got a free tune and everytime i get a retune they are free. I would like some help before i go get another tune by someone else and end up with the same problem

If you change the wrong parameters then Yes, a Tune that was not done correctly could cause that issue.

^^^^^ i agree with 1 FastBrick. It could be ypur problem. Do u have any way to do a log while the reduced power is going on. Or can u duplicate anything and make it go into reduced power mode

Have you checked the wiring from The Throttle body to the ECU? Its very common for it to become brittle and break there. There is even a TSB reference this for Gm service techs.

It would also help to know what code you're getting.

The codes may have been disabled in the tune, but that will only stop the CEL from lighting up and the codes from being reported. REP mode will still be triggered if there is any problem with the throttle control system. I would ensure that all throttle related codes are being reported in order to aid in diagnosis. We need to know what DTCs are triggering REP now. They could be different now that you have changed parts.
