Default The real results from camming

The real effect of camming is more torque from my perspective i can only see gaining more torque because these ls motors generally max out the same im mph

so im only really gaining torque

if im going to shell out 700 bucks for a cam,springs, push rods, etc supplies im paying for torque is this true ?

I love torque dont get me wrong

depends alot on the cam, and supporting mods you will gain both, but were when and how much depends alot on your set up....

If you move peak torque to a higher RPM, you make more power.

1.POWER (the rate of doing WORK) is dependent on TORQUE and RPM.
2.TORQUE and RPM are the MEASURED quantities of engine output.
3.POWER is CALCULATED from torque and RPM, by the following equation:
HP = Torque x RPM ÷ 5252

You could say you feel the torque, yeah... Its more acceleration due to torque, but thats easy to figure since torque is radius*force (~acceleration)

Gotcha, so then gears would be a form of acceleration that you would feel it you went lower?

Trying figure all this out for furture reference.

Besides the obvious calculations, shouldn't the shear amount of people on this site with cams tell you that they're more than worth it?

Basically. Its like the same force working on a larger radius. Think "leverage".
