Ran a Trans AM coming home from college!!!

Well I had to sign up for classes today and the wait was terrible 2 hours of nothing. Well I was pulling out of the parking lot and a Trans Am pulled up in front of me. We both made a couple turns and reached a stop light going out of college on a nice strait a way. It was dark blue with aftermarket rims, btw the weather has been rainy and its just about half cleared off the road it a little damp. So Im in the right lane and hes in the left, he looks over at me and smiles. The light turns green and we both give about half throttle, and at the same time at about 20 we both nail it. He must have spun alot because I did a little and I still pulled about 3 foot in front of his front end we raced up to about 70 and I won, but not becasue my truck is faster but becasue of the loss of traction on his part. I guess it was still a kill but I dont want to seem I am bragging about it. So 2 stop lights later we pull up next to each other again, and roll down the windows, he said man that ****** truck runs, and I said thank you and told him it wasnt stock. We both complemented on each others rides and drove off. He was real cool about it seemed like a nice guy. If I ever see him again at college I will tell him to become a member on this site.

It was a LS1 body style with a Borla exhaust, he must have let off before I did but I still was in front from the 20 roll. He also had 18's on it, but it was still a good run becaue I figured he would hand me my ***. I talked to him the whole time we were at he stop light and the only mod he has done was he exhaust. Like I said it was just the loss of traction that made me win.

Yes its a 2wd, with 285 60 16 tires, but of course he has alot more hp at the tires as I do and it was a automatic. And I dont know how much I am but thinking maybe 265 rwhp with the addition of the Dynatech headers. With the install of the headers my truck pulls like crazy. The slow sluggish hesitiation it use to have from the start is gone. I use to run 0-60 at 6.5 before the headers and it pulls way harder now than it ever did before maybe a high 5 could be done with some traction.

Good kill man
I will tell you that off the line automatic T/As are horrible with 2.73 gears but once they get up to about 45-50mph they start to really take off. The 6-spd ones are cake to humiliate off the line as most of em eithe rbog realy bad or spin like crazy. If you can stay out in front they will usually have a hard time lettting off the throttle enough to get traction so they just spin worse in anger. LOL

I use to do that in my 97' Z all the time. Bog or spin which is going to be this time. I finally figured out how to feed it clutch. Anyway nice kill. I say its a kill, because I'm tired of hearing the "I didn't have traction" excuse from f-body's. All the more reason it was a kill.
