Default Raced a 04 Tundra Doublecab

Friday night I got to race my friends dads Tundra doublecab. I have been wanting to race him for awhile. My friends hardbody is messed up right now so he was driving his dad's truck. Anyway I asked him if he wanted to run and he said sure. We pull out on a 4 lane highway (it was late at night) and we line up in both lanes. I say let's go from a 10 roll, so we start going we hit ten and punch it my truck starts pulling him pretty much imedietly. It was a steady pull all the way up to cut off. When I hit 98 I had probably 1 car length on him or alittle more. Then we went from a 60 roll and I pulled him again just as bad finally the 3.08 gears come in handy. They were both good races its not like I put bus lengths on him but I was defintly proud of my truck. My truck is nothing special just 99 GMC Sierra ECSB with K&N drop in, free mods. Also some weight reduction mods and his truck was 4wd mine is 2. But he has prob 10k miles on the truck im 169k. I was really happy about the race and proud of my old truck.

I don't think it was supercharged. I pulled it to bad for it to be supercharged. His dad did have just a EC 01 Tundra before this one and it seemed to be faster but I had never raced it. I don't think it wa ssupercharged either.

I love freindly races like that so you can REALLY see what's going on. Looks like a better race would be against an '05 Tundra. They now have variable valve timing and a bunch more tweaks done to the engine. They used to be 235hp (or was it 240?), '05s are now 282hp.

This is a nice truck I'm pretty sure 04 I know it was the first year that they had the Doublecab (Crewcab). Tundra's and Titans seem to be stock faster than GM's and Fords but dont seem to get nearly the gas mileage of the GM's.

thats what some guys here from work say, that they like their trucks (titans), but they just give some shitty gas mileage.... i think they are good engines but they still need some more work done to get better mileage out of them...

What truck and mods do you have? One length on a 16.5 sec. truck
Legit kill though
