Alright heres the story... my freinds and i always got bets about whos cars can beat whos. it has all come down to my freinds 95 auto maxima(190hp) stock, and my 01 denali 6.0. i think i can take the maxima, its strongest point is probably topend but i think i can hold em off till then. its fwd with no torque so it just spins with a weak launch. which is where i think i can get em... the denali is awd but it only stalls to like 2 so it makes a weak launch. i was thinking of a neutral drop? anyone try it? any tips would be appreciated . thanks

A NUETRAL DROP????????? i would not suggest doing a nuetral drop. you might shear the output shaft in-two and the stock sun shield is not strong enough to hold up to it. but this is just my opinion. if you want to see if it will go boom, its your truck. only thing i can say is good luck i hope you get him.

 

You don't want to do the neutral drop. I think you can take him. Its the 02+ with 3.5 you have to watch out for.

 

what would be worse?
getting beat by a car length or,
getting beat because you blew up the transmission at the line.

neutral drop!???? no!!!!!!!!!! the denali is quick enough to beat that maxima.... my friends 03 denali beats up on standard cab 4.8s all day long.....but u didn't hear that from me....

 

no way, not even stock. a denali runs like 16.5, the 4.8 is like 15.7

 

untrue my 4.8L ran 16.2 - 16.5 stock all day long. and i remember runnin a Denali and had a hard time with him when i was bone stock.
now is a diffrent story tho.

 

I think that you are going to loose.

I can hang with and beat cars like that but I have 2wd, 3.73's, and a few other boltons so I am thinking I am in the low 15 second range with my OBS Tahoe.

Best to footbrake the motor up to like 1200 if you can, and then roll out hard. Always helps me.

 

I ahve had a few races on my 01 ext cab with a few bolt on always beat those 95-99 Max. My best time in my 01 was 15.51. I don't know. Maybe I never came across a 5 speed Max. It could have been a different story.
If 6.0 Damali's run 16.5's, I think you will be roasted.
