Default Question on selling truck

A buddy of mine from California has sold a few of his trucks w/ c-notches and he told me that you "should" make some sort of letter saying that the buyer knows about it and takes full responsibility for it. This weekend I am getting rid of the truck and was wondering if anybody can help me out with this?

Can he come after me later and say he didnt know the frame was notched if he doesn't sign a paper?

is this purchase from an ad you placed? as long as you sell it "as is" you shouldnt have to worry about it.

Actually your best bet is in the truck classifieds. They go pretty cheap in there.
