Default Question on door panel weather stripping

Ok, first of all I must say out of all the damn vehicles I've owned, I've never had to fix so many interior rattles, squeaks and creaks as this '04 silverado. Truck has never seen a gravel road but a handful of times in its life, stored winters, mainly driven on the highway and only has 32K miles on it. Now I've been chasing down an interior rattle on the right hand side of the truck and after a few days of driving down the highway sitting in the middle seat with the cruise on I've come to find the culprit or so I think. On the top of the door panel there's a piece of weather stripping that runs the full length of the door panel. What I want to know is how on earth is it attached to the door panel? For the last 6 inches or so it appears as though it has come loose from the door panel and I would like to re-attach it. I do not want to use a strong glue or adhesive for the sake that some day if I need to replace the weather stripping, I want it to come off the door easily. If the molding is simply just pressed onto the door panel I may try a light grade silicone that peels easily. Please let me know how the weather stripping attaches to the door panel so I can make the best decision. Anyone else ever have this happen to them?
