Default Quadrasteer bed questions

I have an 03 Sierra 1500 2wd ext cab short bed... What I'm looking at doing right now is getting a bed like whats on mine now that needs new skins and putting the quadrasteer skins on it then sell my stock bed.

What year model beds would work for this? I kinda assume 99-06 beds would work?

Is there any differences like needing to add anything behind the skins that wouldn't be on the replacement panels?

So far on my list of stuff to do
1. quadrasteer bed, HD hood (picked up hood today for $200) and repaint the whole truck.
2. 4x5 or 5x6 drop with sway bars.
3. staggered 20" wheels, Thinking 265/50R20 on 8.5 front and 295/45R20 or 305/50R20 on 10" out back. waiting on drop to figure back spacing
4. Motor, trans and rear end when that stuff starts to go

There was a guy on silveradoss.com that did it. He only did it because he needed some giant slicks in the back though. I think he was running 315's or higher back there. If I remember correctly it just bolts right up. But you can probably expect to pay a crap ton since the quadrasteers are getting more and more rare by the day.

Yea I was looking at putting the Quadrasteer bed sides on a regular bed like what is on mine now. Say buy a straight side bed that needs new sides cheap and put the Quadrasteer panels on it and sell my good bed to help make up for the cost. I don't know if there are any extra support brackets behind the Quadrasteer panels because they are plastic/fiberglass where the regular bed sides are metal. I've never seen a Quadrasteer bed in person

Yep that's the one, I have the exact same truck but white and bone stock other than wheels. I'd like to do something close to that with mine now that it's not new anymore. Ether that or drag my old 79 El Camino out of the field and do a full frame off on it... Sometimes I really miss that old car and bet it would still be a lot of fun with a built 6.0, a lil cam and the old np440 behind it

What is the reason for the quadrasteer bedsides? Aesthetics?

Yep pretty much. Tho looking at what that guy paid for the stagered wheels I could replace almost every panel on the EL for that lol then put a built LS in it with my old 4 speed and the stock 205/70R14.. sounds like a lot more fun to drive
