i hear on the 1500 crewcabs, theres a problem with the leaf spring hangermounts being weak... dont know ALL the details, but its recommended not to run larger then stock wheels on there and thats what turned me away from one, so i just got an ext cab swb z71.

also...check out either www.fullsizechevy.com, or www.gmfullsize.com, lots of info there.
larger tire on a 17in wheel for a z71 at stock heigh is a 285/70/17, which is an expensive tire (last i priced for a bfg allterrain, it was like $213 per tire).
