Default Pretty big problem - Immediate help needed.

You may have seen my previous thread on the stereo install;

I installed an aftermarket CD player, and small amp to power all new speakers in the truck. Nothing fancy, no high wattage.

Last night, I hooked up the CD player, and it powered up fine, and the chime adapter speaker was working fine.

Today, we finished installing everything, and just went to turn it on, and no power. That sucks, but I figure we'll go through the POE and figure it out.. untill I go to start the truck.

It turns over great, fires right up, but then dies instantly after less than a second of idling.

The only thing that I'm wondering about, is while poking through the main engine harness grommet to run the power wire, I think the tip of my knife briefly punctured the harness, because the horn beeped once, and I heard a clicking coming from the engine bay.

This truck is my DD, and is currently stuck in my buddies garage, and therein lies the problem.

thanks in advance,

Mike

Additionally, vehicle is a 2005 reg-cab silverado 4x4. Stereo fuse is fine.

seems to have been a bad connection at the battery....we took the power wire off of the battery and it fired right up....so that crisis is averted. We are having problems with power at the amp now...If we need anymore help i will post back..

thanks again

You disconnected the battery and it started? Thats a neat trick...

I was going to say that if you disconnected the battery during the stereo/amp install, the PCM might just need an idle re-learn...

(I'd go back and check the harness that got stabbed to make sure that none of the wires are exposed and/or shorting...not for the stalling problem, just to prevent future problems)
