The coils are held in place by 4 or 5 studs. You can get them off pretty easily. Then the covers are mounted to the head with bolts that come off easily. You can reuse the gasket on the covers too.

Polishing them will be labor / time intensive and probably will be pretty difficult. I have an extra set and looked at doing it. The material isn't very smooth and probably wont come out as a nice polished finish. You could clean them up, then paint them with a high-heat paint. Thats what I will end up doing.

I can say that mine came out looking like a mirror...It is time consuming but is relativily easy with the right tools.

I have mine painted. I would like to have them polished but I like mine painted the way they are now.

We wet sanded with 600 then 1500. After that we use a angled die grinder with a buffer wheel, mothers polish and let it rip. Then we polished by hand. All I can say is DAMN I'M UGLY!!! <img border="0" alt="[whiner]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_cry.gif" />

Dip the sandpaper in a bucket of water and get to work. It's gonna take you a while if you keep typing.
