Default please help! truck will not start 04 chevy 4.3L v6

truck started to run rough on the way to work today i thought it was bad gas. i stopped and filled it up with premium and added a bottle of fuel injector cleaner. truck started to feel like it was running better, then i let it sit for a few hours and now it will not start.

i pulled off the intake when the accessories where on and depressed the fuel pressure release and no fuel came out. it still turns over and smells like gas comming out of the tail pipes but no fire

i'm thinking either the filter or the pump, what kills me is the truck only has 40k miles

any suggestions?

thanks
robbie

What year truck? Is the battery charging? Or holding a charge? (low voltage can cause alot of issues)

theres a electronic coil on the left hand side when looking at the engine, its black and i think it has 2 wires that go to it... if you have fuel pressure and all else is fine change that coil. cant remember the exact name of it, but i went through this same scenerio before i did a engine sap..

on yeah this was on a 99-02 4.3 silverado

Pull your distributer cap and look for lots of white corrosion. May even be some white looking slime. Those trucks have a problem with moisture getting into the cap. If it's there change the cap and rotor. I've seen several of these 4.3's with this problem. Low milage and wont start.
