well it came time to have the truck inspected today.
was putting this off as long as possible). Didnt think it was going to do very well. so anyways, I had takin the EGR completely off the motor and turned it off with Edit. also turned off the rear O2 sensors. So I drive up to the shop and the guy looks at my truck and sees my Sylvania Silverstar turn signals nad says "those aren't legal because they look purple". I said" turn them on and see what color they are" (dumba$$)
so then after a quick look over at the truck( didnt walk around to the back yet)
he gets in it and takes it around back, to make sure the brakes work and it drives alright. After he gets out he mentions how well the truck gets up and moves. I said it was because of the CAI.
so he starts walkin around the truck and then he gives me the bad news
. wont pass because the tail lights are tinted. Doh' !!!! I had completely forgottin about those things, and was worried about all the other crap. so I made a few calls and wound up gettin BBLS1, and whistlen00 to lend me a set of OE tails.
drove the truck right back up there( was gone maybe 20 min.) and the guy passed it with flying colors. passed all the emission crap and everything. allthough I was a little worried about the driver front tire, it has barely any tread left. but still had way more than whistlen00 back tire did
.
anyways just thought i would share, about the EGR and O2's being off, and still passing. for those that where needing to get their trucks inspected.
Oh and thanks again to BBLS1 and Whistlen00 for lending me the tails.

I'm a mechanic and as long as the SES ligth is off and there's nothing (emission related) in the memory for 100 miles prior to the test your ok, exept if you live in sniffing countys
I'm not from Tx and I got the hell out of there as soon as I could
