Default Optima, Gave it a good test.

Well I was having battery problems about a month ago and ended up putting in a Optima Red Top ( 800CCA) Due to various reasons ( by chance actually ) The truck has not been started in over a week. ( Outside temps ranging from 15-30 daytime and 4-20 nitetime) Well today it fired right up like it never sat at all. Optima

I had a Optima in my 96 when it got totaled the battery busted. A couple of weeks later when I was getting all my stuff out of the truck my friend that was helping ask if the truck still ran. I put the keys in and turned. Cranded right up. Then remembered the Batt was busted. They sold me. Thats all I buy now.

Yeah I got a dual Optima (red top) battery setup in my Jeep and it sits around all winter without getting started. Goto start it and it fires right up. On top of that the batterys are about 6 years old and have gone through a few complete discharge and recharge cycles. I finally just had to replaced one last summer.
They aren't cheap but damn good batteries.

I got a yellow top in my truck, had it as low as 10.5 volts and it still cranks and starts right up. Been in there for over 2 years, most normal batteries in AZ don't last nearly that long.

I have an Optima yellow top and I had my truck sitting for about a week with the alarm activated and went to start it a few days ago and it was completely dead. The clock on the radio was reset and everything. I'm not sure why but my truck does not like starting up in the winter but starts right up in the summer.

Optima red tops are freakin' awesome!!! I would leave my Sierra parked for 2 weeks at a time with the alarm set and it fired right up the first try. I've had the same battery for 6 years and in 2 different trucks. Best investment you can make.

Im on my second optima in like 3 months. I now have to jumpstart my truck everytime I get in. Its dies in the 3 hours between when I get to work and go to lunch. My alt gauge reads fine though. always 13.7 or so. Maybe I need to get a new altornater.

Optimas are sweet. I can get you guys good deals on them. $65 +shipping, they are refurbished by Optima. They dont come with a warranty but it is an Optima so you dont have to worry about it. Thats what I have in my truck!
