I always heard you can't run LED's in the DRL for some reason. I know SuperbriteLED.com says they don't recommend it.

Anybody know why? I figure they would last longer.

i took out my DRL and converted it to dual turnsignal like the OBS trucks...
I have LED's now though. With LED's, the turn and emergency lights flash at a faster rate. I like it tho.

I thought GM issued a new bulb that was more durable.

I blacked out the front of my truck and run amber bulbs (3157 na?) They look good, but it's funny you mention it, because I'm always checking them in the reflection from other cars. They run hot, and don't last long. I've gotta find out what the Suburbans/ SUVs are running for bulbs. That's where I got the idea.

i thought i remember someone here saying that they go because of a power surge on start up and that they fixed theirs by adding adding a delay to them.

Check out the Silverstar amber 3157's - they look blue when they are off. That's what I have in and no problems.

I bought my truck new in 2001 and never replaced a DRL bulb, but I do turn them off most of the time. One's probably going to go out now that I mentioned it

BTW, where is everybody getting the turn signal sockets? I'm wanting to convert my DRL's to turn signals.
