Default OK tried to order a cam!

Tried to order the Old Man Truck cam through thunder racing. Everything was good until it was on backorder. Oh well I am in no hurry in getting it, but i have been saving up for 3 months to get it. I have to check on the status of it next week.

No head work. The kit comes with 918 springs and 7.400 pushrods. I should be hitting over 300 rwhp and with the 5.3 hopefully I will hit over 400 ft pounds of torque. With the 4400 pound RCSB it should move it preatty good. I am also taking it to a dyno in St Charles Missouri to have it dyno tuned, and remove some TQ management. I am also changing it to a JWIS timing chain and the ported LS6 oil pump. Man I really need to find a valve spring tool I really dont want to waste 130 dollars on something I am going to use once.

you never know

I'm not into the wide lsa of that cam. Seems like it would sacrifice to much low end tq to hold power up top and clean the idle up a bit.

we'll see though. very interested in how it works

good luck

do you have a power adder? what other bolt-ons? i didnt know a cammed 5.3 could get 400 ft pounds of torque NA.

The 400 foot pounds of torque I am hoping for is Fly wheel numbers.

Well I had my truck previously dynoed, 255 rwhp, and 300 ft pounds at the rear. So with the addition of the cam, and Thorley headers for christmas and a dyno tune, I am hoping for 400 ft of torque at the flywheel. I have my truck tuned with a Superchips tune that is better than stock but is not worth the 400 dollars I spent on it. I am suspecting another 10-15 rwhp with a dyno tune. Add the 40rwhp that the cam will give (Do a search for Old Man Truck Cam, Titled New Cam results) and another 15-20 rwhp with the long tubes I am hoping to get 370 -380 hp at the fly.
