Default Oil Viscosity

Enough of the polls on which brand, what I want to know is which viscosity is appropriate for the mild climate and the harsh condition I subject my engine to?
I have always run a 10-30wt. and have been thinking of switching to a 20-50wt.
Yes,
no?

I've always ran 10w-30 for a good all around viscosity but then again, I'm not pushing boost through my engine...

There is no need to run 50wt oil blown or not. Your bearing clearances are designed for 30wt.

I'd say that a 10W40 would work perfect. I remember seeing stacey david on trucks putting 10W40 royal purple in an 02 with a 5.3. I know, totally different situation, but if he put 40W into a 5.3, it has to work, right?

Unless you're having a problem with very high oil temperatures, I would stick with 10W30.

I'll talk to Rick in a couple of weeks when I take the truck in for some fuel system upgrades....Looks like the 10-30 is fine from the feedback you guys have offered, thanks.
