the weight used, albeit a single weight or multi-weight should depend on bearing clearances, intended usage, and climate. anything in the 0w-30 to ?w-40 should be fine. i ran 20w-50 in a truck of mine with 15k miles and a cold snap hit one night. went to start it the next morning and boom there went a main bearing from oil starvation. that stuff is like molasses when its cold.

Also avoid oil where the viscosity range is wide. some oils beyond a 20-wt range require modifiers to meet the wider viscosity range. Modifiers and additives are NOT lubricants, so whatever amoutn of that stuff has to go in to make it work reduces the lubricity of the oil. Mobil-1, for example, is one of the brands that achieves a 25-wt range without any modifiers to get it in their 5w-30 oil. Anyones 0w-40 is going to have plenty of modifier in it to get there. 10w-30 is great for warm climates. If you need freeze protection run 5w-30 in the winter and 10w-30 in the summer.

I run 5-30 in the winter and 10-30 in the heat of the summer:
brand wise full synthetic M1 & Quaker State.
