Question Oil leak from above oil filter....what is this?

Developed an oil leak out of this thing that sits right above the oil filter. Can't find any info about it in a Chilton's manual or on Mitchell on Demand's site either...probably because I don't know WTF it is called...lol.

I attached a pic and circled the item in question using my awesome MSPaint skills...

What is this thing called (what does it do), and is there a gasket or something between it and the engine?

P.S. I know it says "pressurized oil port" under the pic, but no luck finding exactly what that means. I can't see any sensors or wires coming from it on my truck.

2002 5.3 LM7 engine is the engine in question...Thanks.

It has a small gasket that can be replaced for cheap.
