oil change light

Default oil change light

i have always gotten my oil change at the dealer. but the last time i did it myself. but when i start my truck sometimes it tells me to change my oil. is there some sort of reset button?

Yes. If you dont have DIC then you have to do something with the trip reset iirc. Should be covered in the owner's manual if you have it?

with the ignition turned to on push in the gas pedal completely 3 times in like 60 seconds and it will blink and fade. it is reset. Some times u gotta push it like 4 or 5 haha but just push it completely a bunch of times kinda quick untill u see it blink than fade and ur set

haha, its good. I've done every oil change on every car I've ever had so I had to figure things out the hard way usually haha but its either with the ignition on or just sitting.. I dont remember haha its not running tho I know that much... thats just 4 pretty noises

To reset your Oil Life on the '99+ NBS trucks you put the ignition to the ON position (vehicle off) and push the gas pedal down 5 times quickly and then shut the ignition off. When you put the ignition back to ON the Oil Life indicator will blink three times and then go dark and that's it, your Oil Life is back at 100%!

texcrew, if you have the dic buttons on your steering wheel, you should be able to just go under the vehicle information menu and then find the oil life option, and push and hold enter until the meter resets to 100% oil life....

I press my throttle 3 times and it resets.....
