Ford:
Been driving a 2004 (NBS) Ford F-150 Crew cab Lariet for the past few days.
Don't worry, it's a loaner since my truck is back in Florida. My overall opinion is that it's a damn nice truck. Now this one is LOADED right down to the power adjustable pedals to the back-up distance sensor. It rides very smooth and handle nicely. Very comfortable also. Every thing is easy to use,see and access. VERY ROOMY for a family of 4.
Only two things I don't care for.
1. 5.4 is not enough power for that big of truck. Needs a little more kick in the passing gear.
2. The running boards make it tricky to get out of.
Bottom line: I'm still a Chevy guy and a Chevy will be my next truck. If Chevy didn't make a quality product, I would buy this truck.
1-10:
overall value - 8
ride and comfort - 8
performance and hadling - 6.5
Dodge:
My Brother just bought a 2005 Dodge Hemi.
Reg cab stipper. And I mean stripper!!!!! It's a truck with sheetmetal and a motor.
It has great accelaration. It will probably run a high 13 as it sits. I could see it in the mid to lows with a handful of bolt-ons.
Get this, it was only 17k NEW!!! no demo.
I don't care for the MUSHY tranny on this tuck though. For what it is, it makes great power and handles well.
Bottom line: Mustang GT killer and will give any 5.3 reg cab Chevy a run for the money part for part. 5.4 Ford....no chance!
1-10:
overall value - 8
ride and comfort - 7.5
performance and handling - 7.5
This is just my honest opinion guys.

Did you mean high 14's?
That's good info. I drove a 2002 Dodge Ram as a loaner while my z71 was in the shop. It was nice, but it didn't have nothing on my truck (before all the mods).
I also drove a f-150 for a loaner. Unbiased opinion ... it was still a piece of crap. It didn't handle well at all (could have been the tires helping that one), had no acceleration, and had a horrible ride.
Between the 2, I would have gotten the Dodge hands down, but like you ... I'm a Chevy man all the way.

My seat-o-meter is callibrated for mid to low 15's. So I could be off a bit. But I bet it's a low 14 for sure. Remember, I'm talking about the 5.7 Hemi in a REG CAB STRIPPER. No power anything, 'cept cruise and am/fm cassette, NOT even the big wheels and tires(it had steel 17's). My last run in my truck was a 15.4 dressed out, heavy wheels etc... and this one pulled a hell of a lot harder. I'll run him at Xmas and get you the results.

there are only a couple of guys(2 that I know of) that are running the stipped version.
and both are hitting low 14's and hitting 13.90's as well. but they have s few mods to get there.
all stock the best it's gonna do is a mid to high 14. if that, and more likely run a 15 flat.
the Hemi's practically die in second gear from what they are saying over on their web site.
