Default Non-Thermal fan clutch

Does anyone know if there's a Non-Thermal fan clutch available for a 2003 Silverado with 5.3? Thanks for any help.

If there was, how would the clutch be activated?

RPM,low rpm actually. Fan is engaged at idle and slightly above idle speeds and then disengages as engine rpm increases. I think it would work great for improved A/C performance while at idle without the need for E-Fans.

Billy, thanks for the suggestion but from my experience most flex-fans are pretty poor performers.

I couldn't find one on the o'reilly site, but that isn't the best source i'd imagine. Just thermal ones

Most non thermal fan clutches only spin at 40-60% of the water pump speed when engaged vs 60-90% on a thermal fan clutch when engaged so I don't think it would have the effect your looking for if you did find one. You could always add a pusher fan in front of the radiator and maybe cut some of cost from doing a full efan conversion.

Robert, thank you for the additional info. I guess I will continue with the E-Fan install. I thought the non thermal clutch fan might prove to be more reliable than the E-Fan in the end. Thanks again.

Me too, but it seemed to fit the OP's description of what he was looking for
