Default No More LQ9's

Ordered the 6.0L from Scoggin-Dickey today. Found out GM has discontinued manufacturing the LQ9's, even as crate motors. Had to settle for an LQ4.

That is interesting. The LQ9 crate is listed in the new GM performance parts catalog that just came out. I guess us guys with LQ9 from the factory are stuck out if something goes boom. Buy the Lq4 and put Lq9 piston and rods in I suppose.

I would but it's a bit pricey, esp. since I also have to buy a new tranny . Plus I wanted something that was a drop-in without having to do much modding, and would work w/ the Radix. Oh well, the LQ4 should be an improvement over the 4.8, and with the Radix and a good tune, prob not much different from the LQ9.

wouldnt you rather have an LQ4 for a radix because of the lower compression ratio?

not imo , the 112 cant produce enough boost on a 6.0 to where the compression ratio will hurt performance. if you have goals to go bigger than yes an lq4 would be a better choice.
