Default No brake lights all of a sudden, need advice, 2003 Tahoe

Hey guys, all of a sudden, my brake lights stopped coming on, all three of them. I've checked the following things:
  1. In cab and under hood brake light fuses are good
  2. Confirmed cruise control still works
  3. Flashers and turn signals still work
  4. Headlights still work
  5. tail lights still light up with headlights

What should I check next? Thanks for any help or tips!

Do you have big feet? Check next to the brake pedal- the switch could have failed or broke

but that makes me think though, idk if it would go into and gear without reconizing brake being pressed if that part failed- check it

Would I still be able to turn off cruise control with the brake if that was bad?

I can put it in gear without pressing the brake. Been able to do that for years, not sure why. Never worried about it, haha.

Id also say to check the brake switch. its easy to pull out and bench test. not a wallet buster if they need to be replaced. mine blew up about a year ago.

Ordered a new ACDelco brake light switch off Amazon last night since it was only $14, thought if I'm going to pull it off and test it, might as well just replace it instead of waiting for a replacement to get here. The part number for a 2003 Tahoe WITH adjustable pedals is 15128592, ACDelco part D1583G.

I will update if that does the trick.

Also of note, noticed this morning that my brake lights did come on half of the time when I was backing into my parking space this morning, so points to a lose connection or bad brake light switch.

The new brake light switch did the trick, brake lights are back. But I can still shift out of park without pressing the brake, though not worried about fixing that.

Thanks for the help guys!
