Default New Times Na 5.3 ecsb z71

Id first like to thank Gamedawg for comin out and helping his crippled friend

Temps were a little cooler today around 85 but it was still humid. Best for today was

60' 1.981
1/8 8.873
mph 78.34

this was the first run I was able to ease into the throttle, stalled up to around 1800 and that lower 60' made a huge difference at the end of the track. Im still runnin on the stock firestones with 25 psi and they have around 40k miles on them. This was with no tailgate, no spare, cutout and new part throttle tuning I had done.

other times today were
60' 2.041 stalling to 2200 shift at 6200 rich on top
1/8 8.995
mph 77.98

60' 2.043 stall up to 2200 shift at 6300 took away fuel helped on mph
1/8 8.969
mph 78.43

Ive still got some tuning to do I really need to put her on a dyno and nail down my pe fueling. Ive noticed once parts get heated up especially the tranny it doesnt want to perform as well. Ive seen my iat go up to 130 while just sitting there waiting for my turn. Part of the problem is this aem intake the chrome tube just soaks up the heat very fast. Im thinking slicks would help tremendously its hard to launch on these tires in 2wd, if I was parish and had power to spare Id just put it in 4hi but the transfer case seems to soak up alot of power.

Im gonna post up some vids of it one of the good run, me blastin a dakota and another of me against a tubed 50's drag truck I got destroyed he ran 8.5 to my 8.9

Any thoughts on getting those 60' times down?

Congradulations on the 8's. That's a beautiful lope. I love how fast it hits. Doesn't sound lazy.

Great times man!!

My best time with just the cam was 14.29@96.82mph.

Here is the slip if it helps ya:

60': 2.044
1/8th: 9.17
1/8th: 75.95mph
1/4: 14.29
1/4: 96.822mph

from the same night:

60': 2.053
1/8th: 9.21
1/8th: 75.85mph
1/4: 14.32
1/4: 96.91mph

You have a couple MPH on those times in the 1/8th mile but your 60' is still soft so I have no doubt you're in the 13s but I would say not too deep into it. IMO you would be better served launching in 4wd then imediately swtiching out after you leave the line. That's what most of us do on the lower HP trucks. Me and Parish couldn't do it reliably once turbo'd because the trans wouldn't let us shift out while at WOT.

I think you'll have me beat though man. My truck charges HARD on the top end but on the bottom and midrange it's sluggish. I still have some things to tweak or change before I'll be running 13s I think.

thanks for the input Fl8 interested in how your setup comes out especially with the 80e, those dyno numbers through that 80e thats alot. I think the 1/4 is gonna be yours with gears my cam dies around 6200 youve got alot better flowing heads and a bigger cam plus the gearing is different I wonder if you could get through the whole quarter in second. Your gonna be in the power range alot longer than someone with a 60e, just have to get there 4.56 gears would be smokin

Keep us posted on the outcome.
