I really appreciate all the great help, thanks everyone. I have replaced everything that has to do with the ignition system except change the coil pack. I am definately going to pick up a coil pack tomorrow and swap it out and see if it helps any. I have also put a bottle of GUMOUT(the one for trucks & suv's) in the tank about two weeks ago. The truck ran better until I had to fill up again. I also run 87 octane from various places all the time. The SES light was flashing on and off again tonight and it stayed on so I got the code checked and it was the same cylinder #2 misfiring. But, I guess I will start running the expensive gas. I guess I will check everything out this weekend because I have classes all during the week. Maybe i'll steal my sisters Jeep so I don't have to drive my truck. Again thanks for the help, and WAR EAGLE.

before you go and spend money on a new coil pack, switch another coil pack with the pack in question and see if the cylinder that you put the pack in question on starts to throw codes. its cheaper and i think packs are pretty expensive. hate to see you spent unnecessary money.

Yep, I hope I'm not too late but he's right...try switching the coil pack with the one you think is bad, and if the other cylindar has a misfire then its definatley the coil pack... if not then I'd definatley try; 1: running higher octane gas. 2: changing the fuel filter. 3: Running some fuel injector cleaner in it!!! If those dont work then post back up and we'll get to the more expensive stuff!! Good Luck

I've never replaced the fuel filter. I'm probly going to check out the entire fuel system tomorrow. I went ahead and bought a new coil pack even after switching. I forgot to mention that I get the hook-up on AC DELCO parts. The coil pack was a little under 30 bucks. I have now changed everything dealing with the ignition system and I'm getting a P0300 instead of a P0302. But, like I said tommorrow for sure I will do an overhaul on the fuel system, filter, regulator, injector cleaner, and the highest grade gas. Again I can't say thank you enough for ya'lls time.

just for the sake of others needing help i'll finish this out. i took the truck to the shop last friday after putting the new EGR valve, pcv valve(it was cheap so I figured why not) and fuel filter on after no sign of improvement. monday the guy called and said he would check everything out. he put the vacuum gauge on and called and told me the truck had almost no vacuum at full throttle. about an hour or so passed and he called back saying he found the problem... the cats were stopped up. so he replaced the y-pipe w/ and i got the truck back wednesday. i started the truck and it was a completely different sounding machin than before. the engine could exhale better and you could tell. i wish i recorded the before and after sounds it was like night and day. oh yeah the truck runs 10x's better than before. well hopefully this will help someone if they ever have the same trouble.

Yeah, when I removed my cats it sounded and felt extremely different than before. Glad to see that you got your problem fixed and the truck is ok. Finding a vacuum problem can really suck too.
