ok newbee to a motor swap
i was going to do h/c swap on the 5.3 but A LOT of people are telling me to do a cammed 6.0l so thats the game plan. i got $1600. so far saved for this project im hoping by mid march i can get it underway.
2001 on up LQ4 6.0
nelson retuned
220/ 224 .530/.534 112lsa cam Power RPM range 1600-6600
comp 918 springs
Pushrods, not sure what size i need
gasket kit, i know there is a sponser that has kits anyone know what sponser and what gaskets i would need?
will my 5.3 edlebrock shortys bolt up to the 6.0?
is there anything else i might have forgot?
what kind of 1/4 mile time do you think i will get with this new set up? current mods are in sig. im hoping for a low low 14.

I think that's a good plan for your expectations. I think 13's are probrobally gonna be no problem with that combo. The only mod I'm not sure of is the TB converter. I'm not real informed about the TB converter, but I'm sure a Yank TT3000 or PI 3000 would yield better results. I had a simillar 6.0L motor (until DEWMANSHU bought it last week) and honestly I was "expecting" mid to low 13's. I had the .212/.218 .557/.563 on 114 which I like better than the cam you have picked, but I would ask around like Texas Speed and Performance or MTI or Comp Cams and see what they recommend for what you have in mind. Your headers will work fine, but a set of long tubes would really help out, of course that's another $1k !! My truck is a 2wd and I've already been 14.5x on the motor now, so I was optimistic about knocking a second off my ET. Good luck, I'm sure you'll be happy with that combo.

found a 2002 LQ4 37,000 miles that was in a rollover for $1275
how good of a price is that?
about the 220/ 224 . 530/.534 112 lsa cam how do you think that will do on the highway at about 2000 rpms will it be able to pull the truck up to a higher speed or will i have to downshift?
