No I won't be pulling against that. Something about diesels have their own classes. Heck they even have their own drag racing assoication(DHRA) they don't like to play with others. His is more open class, my class which is street legal 6500 lbs. Which I be in point pulls next year, which seem to be mostly built up old Chevys, winter hopfully bring regear, and top end kit. Fall of next year new trans, Custom turbo, and new bottom end.

Here a guys site with some vids of his truck whopping ***
duarmax racing

The guy in the vid, took 5th, right behind the some of top twin turbo dodges in the country.

One of the trucks blew black smoke like I've never seen before and went like a ****** ******. I'm glad they ran in a different bracket then I did.

Very impressive. Like the old saying....never judge a book by it's cover.

I want big truck

aside from fuel milage, the power levels aren't that impressive. a much smaller gas engine on half as much boost can beat them. we just need gm to start putting turbo's on the gas engines.

Saw a Dmax with level I setting run high 14's up here at 5K ft ( we were hitting mid 16's on the Hemi ). DAMN! Pretty awesome. Had some stock Cummins in the low 17's. Thank god it was bracket night for trucks.
Those diesels can sure be amped up easily.

Half as much boost on a gas motor is about the same airflow as a diesel I'd imagine, got to take rpm into account also. The power they make like you say is nothing spectacular, the ease with which it can be made is nothing short of spectacular.

Some of the modified cummins 5.9 engines will exceed 100 psi of boost.

You beat me to it. I know of one guy who just pulls with his truck. From what I recall he runs his cummins up past 6000 rpms! He is also runing tripple turbos with something like 150psi. He's got a pipe sticking right outa the hood.. def not street legal. After personally seeing Diesels run 12's I've learned to respect them.

if he's revving it that high, it's not on diesel fuel. the physics of diesel fuel won't allow it to fire fast enough to rev that high. the combustion time is the main rev limiter for diesel engines which is why they are designed to not rev high. they could very easily turn up the rpm's on them otherwise.

Some race team built a diesel engine that turned 8000rpm before I'm pretty sure. I'll look for some sort of link.

I know it doesn't sound possible. The friend who told me about the engine is a member of a dodge cummins forum called turbo diesel register. I'll ask him to get me a link with some info about that truck

Ok I found a site with some videos of him. Look for a guy names Kent Crowder. You will see him dominate in the truck pulls. Tripple turbos with over 200psi

Here is a god run

big diesel

Go here for a list of other truck pullers http://www.diesel-central.com/Video/Video.htm
