I have heard that the Jeep 4.0L engines get pretty crappy mileage, so you might be stuck with a four-banger Jeep if you are going for efficiency.

Go for a WRX STi with blizzaks and never look back!

im not so worried about the MPG, and i would have to believe a jeep to be pretty low maintenance? im still just thinking, ive got a while before even considering actually buying anything

I think you are a little confused as to what you want.

Gas is expensive right now, remember that. If you feel you need something with good gas milage, then that is a VERY important thing. Some of us can afford the high gas prices. I fill up and it costs me about $50 each time at the pumps and fill up about every 5-7 days.

well like, i dont need a 50mpg hybrid, but also dont need a 5mpg gas eater, 20mpg isnt bad when i was riding around with my old 4.3l on 93 octane, and when the programming was screwed was only getting what was horriable gas mileage (14gal tank lasted me 120 miles) and i drove 30 miles a day, so like i can deal with some low gas mileage
