where did the lsx block being used info come from? i dont think they would put an iron block in it. i think the ls2 will most likly be the z28 or possibly the ss version. im assuming the same time the new corvette will be released so they may put the ls7 in it but im not holding my breathe.

Gm will never put the same motor that is in there bread and butter car the (vette) in to another car that is why I here they are putting the lsx 427 iron block in the camaro.ls2 will be the reguler v8 car engine. ohh and I work for gm thats is where I get my info

I see the LS7 being used in a "special edition" edition type deal. The cost of the motor just isnt conducive to selling mass quaintities of cars. I would be willing to bet that the LS2 will be the mainstay for the SS line and some form of the LS6 esque motor for the Z28 line. IMO that is most likely what will happen, the LS7 also has a dry sump oiling system which will cause some packaging issues unless there is a decent amount of underhood real estate.
Why would GM put the flagship aftermarket LSx block into a regular production car? Doesnt make any sense to me.
