Default New 6.2 GM motor.

Hi all, my buddy is looking at getting a GMC Denalli truck and we were both wondering if anyone had a truck out to the track with one. We were wondering what type of times they run.

The one review I've seen had a Denali doing 0 - 60 in 6.3 seconds and 14.8 1/4 mile. That is with the 20 inch rims.

That new 6.2L hauls ***.

yes and no. Size yesbut with DoD and VVT there are some limitations, you would have to build a L92 head/intake using a Ls2 or 6.0L might be easier.

Does the new L76 6.0 already come with L92 heads? I'm planning on ordering a 2008 Silverado once May rolls around and assume the largest engine I'll be able to get will be the 6.0L.

We got 3 denali's on the lot and several Tahoes with this engine. I've driven them all and truthfully, I'm really not impressed with them at all. Too big and heavy and the power seems to be retarted a bit.

I've not even seen a truck with a 6'speed in it yet. I'm not for sure that even the new SS will be manual optioned.

The 6.2L has only been in trucks with the 6 speed: Escalades and the Denalis.

Doing some checking and the Denalis ONLY come with the 6.2L, they have no other engine options.

The biggest engine available in trucks with the 4 speed is the 6.0L which I have heard feels anemic. I confirmed this when I took one for a test drive. Doesn't feel as peppy as the 5.3L.

I'm going to end up getting the 6.0 just for the modding potential.
