stay with me please, it is a little long.
ok my plan was to do a 6.0l swap this summer with alot of other truck stuff and basically use all the money i earn to do that ~$4500-$5000 if the weather is good. but i have been thinking about going to law school after i graduate or atleast get my MBA which means i would be in school for 4 more years not 2, so i need this truck to last.
one thing i have learned is that if you do one thing there are always consequensces and i think that once i do the 6.0l swap i will need a new tranny and then i would be screwed bec i wouldn't have any cash. and a couple months down the road and after that i wwould proabably blow my G80. i don't drag race and the 6.0l would just be for the added power on the HWy and getting on the freeway, and just for the occasional kill. i do alot of HWY driving, since i bought the truck in Aug i have put 10K miles and counting.
so i am thinking of not doing the 6.ol swap then maby hold off on it till the summer after or the winter when i would make some cash. then this summer i would do colormatching, hid's, katzkins, $900 in tires, suspesnion mods, nelson tune, mit tube, and just some other stuff, then maby send some cash on other stuff i want a save some. so what do you guys think i should do?

Go the more reasonable way. i told myself the same thing when i bought my truck. the lq9 will be more for towing.........that barely lasted the 500 mile breakin. do some exterior and put some cash away for a rainy day

i sorta went through the same thing this past fall. i did a bunch of crap to my 5.3 last summer...LT headers, PCM, cam, K&N, blah blah blah.
in october i located an LQ9 6.0 and was gonna do the swap, but thought better of it. glad i didnt do it now...instead im building a BIG hemi for my cuda
trade one moneypit for another right? i cant help it
given your minimal mods to the motor...if you want some more power, get a PCM, a CAI, and a set of headers. that should suit you for a while. i just wouldnt jump into an expensive 6.0 swap until you've put a few parts on the 5.3 and enjoyed them. those 3 bolt ons alone will be a big performance improvement. expecially since all you want is "a little extra".
then do your "looks" stuff too. but thats just my opinion...
for what its worth, ive been spraying nitrous w/ my stock 4L60E trans for about 2 years now. its got about 130k miles on it now and still gittin' it
