Need opinions on wheel, tire, drop combo

20's suck when you hit a curb, so I was thinking some 18x8 B. Coddington Timeless 6 in some 285/50's with a 2/4 drop. What do y'all think?

20s aren't too bad on curbs since trucks have kind of tall tires. I'd be more worried about it in a car with thin sidewall tires.
I've got my previous 17s with nearly new tires if you are looking for a six-spoke. $725 obo in Houston.

I have 18x8.5 w/ 285/50/18 on a 2/4 and I really like the way it looks. Several of the other guys on here have the same setup and some have a 2/4 w 20s that look good as well. Just depends you your preference. You can see pics of mine at link in sig.

Greg, all that truck needs is some neon and some curb feelers. ... I do like the rims you have now alot better.
big kid- your truck looks good but you need to get some of Scotts turf builder for that lawn

Well, I'll chime in here. I have a 4/6 drop on 20X8.5" Boyd Spyders (6.0" backspacing) on 255/35/20 Michelin Pilot Sport A/S's.
I dunno if you have a 99-00, or an 01+ truck. My buddy's 00 Silvy is dropped 4/6 and he has alomst no problem with speed bumps, etc (his truck is a little lower than mine.) I have those dang crossmembers/supports to deal with, and I drag the truck quite a bit on speedbumps and coming out of parking lots.
Here's a pics...shows how low the frame hangs on the 01+ trucks:

My buddy's 00 4/6 on 18's [18x8 Budnik Grid Six on 275/40ZR18(F) and 18x9-1/2 Budnik Grid Six on 295/45ZR18(R)]

Hey RED.... Why you gotta diss on my lawn? With three acres to mow, i dont care if it all dies. BTW that was in early march when everything was just starting to grow back.

Ahem!!!! that's a 3/4 drop T Look at mine and BigKid's pages and see the 285/50/18 Yokohama AVS's. I get more questions about those tires than I ever thought I would.
