Need help with engine dipstick

I believe that the bevel just aids in getting the dipstick tube into the hole easier, with less chance of pinching the o-ring, it's not necessary for fitment or sealing though.

So you guys think all I need to do is drill a straight hole? No bevel?

As long as you can get the dipstick in smoothly without pinching the o-ring, you won't need the bevel. The bevel is easy to do though, just kiss the edge with a bigger drill bit.

That's about exactly what I was thinking I'd do... I'll get around to it maybe this weekend...no hurry...have to wait till the truck's back from the body shop anyways...
